How to be a Woman

For the 2016 Penguin Random House Design Award, I reimagined the cover of Caitlin Moran’s ‘How to be a Woman’ and was awarded second place for the Adult Non-Fiction category.

The concept was to convey the cost of sexism. According to Caitlin Moran, being a woman is expensive – bras, tampons, razors, handbags, dresses and Brazilian waxes are just a handful of her everyday necessities! It was this insight that inspired my design response, a receipt listing these very items to foreshadow the contents of the book.
